It started out as Bentleys Archery. Not sure what it ended up as. I know it closed up in the early 80's.

Bentley, his first name might have been Gordon, used to run a bear camp out of Dryden Ont. Ron Miller, a good friend of mine worked for him for a while, and ended up running his own bear camp out of Ignace, Ont.

They also had the Archery shop in Madison I believe. I used to shoot league there as a kid and would take the city bus with my bow and arrows to get there. Mid 1970's. I believe the owners were Gordon and Mimi Bently. As a kid I had a Bear Polar LTD II and the weekend before bow season my upper limb delaminated. On the bus I went to their shop and Mimi was working. I showed her what happened. She said she would take care of it. By Thursday I had a new set of limbs. Got free range time to get the 10 and 20 yard pins set and I was on my way.
Great people and its something I'll never forget.

buck, That's the Ron I'm talking about. Worked for Gordon. Worked in Lannon, Sussex, then Spherris Sporting goods on 68th and Capitol. Johns Sporting goods on Hwy 60. Ended up at Buck Rub, both old and new. Haven't seen him in 12+ years. He knew how to get a bow to shoot right. I believe he's living somewhere around WI Rapids.

I remember the place. You had to step down from the sidewalk. There was a sign on the door or wall that said "Bowhunting Spoken Here". I was a kid living in Menomonee Falls, never spent more than a few bucks there and they would never kick us out while we picked up and dreamed of owning the beautiful recurve bows.
