I've been changing all sorts of things w/ my bow and not shooting well at 25+yds. My buddy asked if i could see the 2 big holes in a 3d target last night and it was a blurry single hole to me. I then tried on his glasses and holy crap could I see the detail in that target! I'm left handed and my left eye is weaker than my right, which I close being left handed. I just turned 43 Sunday and I'm not changing my bow handing now. Anyone shoot and recommend a peep w/ a magnifier? The info. I have read they are for people who need help up close not at distance as I do?

I may not fully understand your problem, but my situation is similar to yours (left handed with my right eye being dominant). I have quite poor vision too, however it is fully correctible with glasses. Why don't you just get a decent pair of glasses? No matter how weak your left eye is, you should see fine out of it if you have a correct pair of glasses. When bowhunting, I use single-vision (non-bifocal) glasses made for distance viewing so that there are no bifocals to blur the image of deer that are near my treestand. Get a new eye test so you have a good prescription, and then go to eyebuydirect.com to buy single-vision glasses. They will run you about $30 including shipping.

i'd rather not wear glasses for all the potential problems that can occur while wearing them hunting. This seems to be a problem for me target shooting but hunting hasn't had a problem due to the closer distances. PCH, you do have me thinking now that I should get a test and get a pair anyway, I might love-em?

Dug, you will thrill to the crystal-clear vision that a good set of glasses give you.

Dug...I wear progressive lens eye glasses (technically trifocals) and have no problems. Just tell the eye doc you're an archer and he/she can craft a scrip that will give you both a sharp image of your sight pin and your preferred target range. Trust me - I'm as blind as a bat.

Glasses are a life saver,I can't hunt /shoot without them,No line ,Just make sure there is plenty of lens area.
