is he sure the neighbors pen is secure, looks like the domestic birds escaped. Never saw a wild turkey look anything like that, unless they started changing their feathers now to hide from predators like a snowshoe?
Wait,... is this an Aprils fools joke??

Those birds work more than the others. They have turned grey from the stress.

Doc Williams says to kill everything, it's good for the future of hunting :)
He never said that, just kidding.

But if you DID see birds like that out in the woods....
Are all three going home because they're not wild birds, or do they get a pass because they are potentially "escaped livestock"?

They might be real but they are not wild...they escaped from someone farm and may have become feral but definately not wild

Pretty cool. I think I count about 7 total in the picture....so maybe they are all family from the same hen or domestic Tom. Cross bred...But grew up wild now.
I've heard of a "silver" strain of wild turkey...but I don't think it's this.

I think I recognize them from Stamford Nature Center. If the OP's friend lives nearby, maybe they should get a call?

If they act a wild turkey then they're fair game for a shot, but if they come running looking for feeding time,....... then it's back to the truck.
