I have been hunting turkeys in the this spot for 20 years or so,I have quit a lot of fields in this spot and lot of mature woods,As soon as the field start to grow up it seams the turkeys move to another area.Does anyone think it could have anything to do with predators being able to hide in the higher grass easier?

Turkeys are not like pheasant that like hide in the cover, turkeys like open fields and hardwoods where they can rely on their keen eye sight to spot danger. If the grass is too high they will avoid the area. Try the hardwoods near the fields, sounds like a better option to me.

SWK

nice lawn ornament, but where's the picture of your bird?

Jakes are so stupid. I had one come in a couple of weeks ago when I was out with my camera and the dumb bird stood there as I stood up and started waving my arms at him while he was 30 yards away. The tom hightailed it as soon as I moved, but not the jake.

Sounds like your hard work paid off, nice job!
