A few of us from Minn are considering a trip to Missouri for a fall bow hunting trip. One guy from our group has hunted Rebels Cove & Indian Hills but it was a few years ago. We were thinking about the last week in October. What can we expect? Crowds? Deer? We are looking to start a yearly hunt trip that we can bring our kids along and start some traditions!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

They use to be fantastic but the secret has leaked out and the same as all the other states MDC has let to many does get killed off. They have started cutting back on the tags this may help in a few years. They are still good hunting just lots of competition and not many deer. Good luck.

cmcfadden is right, deer numbers down and you will have company. 6-7 hour dive to MO ...why not drive a few more hours and hit eastern Wyoming in Sept and chase mulies and whities and have the whole unit full of public land to yourself.

Another option would be to hit the MO bow opener. September 15th. Fairly predictable deer movement. Should have Fox Valley, Union Ridge and other areas to yourself during the week.
