"Hornish said she will lobby Malloy to veto the bill, with a simple message: "Non-hunters should have one day of peace."

The oponents of the bill are not giving up just yet. The HS is launching a massive call campain to have the governor veto the bill. They are launching a hail mary on sunday hunting.

We have never been so close togetting sunday hunting as we are today. Please don't think that this is a done deal.

You need to call and write EVERY DAY. Have your wife, your friend, your children and your archery club membership call. If The governor doesn't hear from us, he will hear from the opposition.

CALL NOW!

Governor Dan Malloy

After more than two decades of lobbying by advocates, the General Assembly has approved bow hunting of deer on Sundays on private land. The Senate voted 28-8 on Wednesday to approve the bill allowing bow hunting on Sundays, following approval in the House of Representatives 113-32 last week. David Bednarz, spokesman for Gov. Dannel P. Malloy, said:

"the governor’s office is reviewing the language of the bill before the governor decides whether to sign it."

Just called on behalf of my 900+ fellow club members. Also posted this request on FB:

Guys, we still need Malloy to sign this bill. He promised last year that he would if it got to his desk. Well, it has, and we are waiting to see if he will honor his promise. The antis are petitioning him to veto the bill. Please take the time to make a quick phone call today, tomorrow and every day until he signs it. Ask your wife, friends, club members to call this #: 800-406-1527 and tell the aide who answers that you support Sunday Bow Hunting bill and you (respectfully) want the governor to sign it. It's quick, easy, takes about 20 seconds of your time. The brass ring is just outside our grasp and the antis are calling to keep it from us. Don't let them win and waste this 20 year lobbying effort. Make those calls today, keep at it and on October 4th you can be sitting in a tree waiting for a bruiser to come by!

So stupid, it's private land, they have their one day of peace on public land....for now :-)

Let's keep up the pressure. A call and an email a day. Takes maybe a minute of your life.

FYI, I exchanged emails yesterday with the Governor's brother. He is a hunter and is in my Club. I reminded him that he said that Dan told him he'd sign a bill if it made it to his desk, and I asked him to remind Dan of that. He replied that he would, but he didn't expect any problems.

Hopefully Sunday Hunting won't become a pawn in some backroom deal.

I just made my daily call and ask the lady that took the message if there were a lot of calls on the issue. She said yes. I ask if they were for or against and she said most of them are in favor.

Keep the preassure on.

I just sent my morning email to the Governor. I attached about 200 letters from people that asked me to submit letters on their behalf. I will attach another 150 letters tomorrow and another 150 the day after tomorrow.

I encourage you to do the same. Attached is the link for the e-mail form(top of message).

To make it easy you should type in the form and then copy it as save it in a word document so that tomorrow you can just copy and paste. It will be easier next time you go because your PC will autofill the form when you atart typing.

Don't forget to make your call as well.

I also called, left my name and town.

The guy i spoke with said its in the office of the secretary of the state. He says their legal team reviews it to make sure everyting is ok before its sent on to the governors desk. He didn't know how long this will be held there nor did he give me a timeframe on past bills and how long they are normally held for review.

All i can say, like everyone else, make your voice be heard! it was a few minutes on the phone, it was painless.
