slingshot for fishing or gigging?

First off I think this is legal to gig frogs with but I am going to call DNR this week and check on it. I have been seeing some of the slingshots that shoot an arrow and think that might be fun to use here on the creek and in my kayak to do some frog gigging with. Was wondering if any of you have tried this?

I had an arrow setup for my slingshot years ago as a kid. I never could get much velocity with the old aluminum arrows, but today's carbon might work a lot better.
