Well I stalked to about 12 yards of this guy and it was lights out for him. Killed him with my Elite E32 equipped with a 100 grain Spitfire. It was devastating to say the least. These Dirtpigs are tough little buggers to get close to but everything worked out today. There are a few more around so this should get interesting. Lots of fun!!

If Bill Murray had your bow and skill on Caddy Shack he would have gotten Mr. Gopher.

I hear those are good eats, kind of curious to try one. Has anyone?

Dusted a couple last year that were living under my shed. They are pretty smart once you shoot one. Tough too. Had one make a run for shed but arrow kept him from getting back under. Thank god. Would have stunk for months. Good target practice though. You must be pretty hungry to eat one!! Giant rodent in my book

Actually they are pretty tasty if prepared correctly. I didn't eat this one because the Spitfire tore his whole right side up, hence the picture from the left. It was real nasty looking and I just couldn't get that image out of my head

The legs make great bait for snapping turtles, if you are using a hook.
Also, I've been wanting to remind hunters, that if you have been having a problem with dog walkers letting their dogs run in the area you hunt, plant some roadkill in the area for their dogs to roll in. Some roadkill, not too far from the parking areas, may just encourage owners to leave right away. Other spots, nearer to where you hunt, are the most likely area the dogs will not be leashed. Make a dog happy, recycle those roadkill to your advantage.

I've heard it tastes like beaver, just not as moist....
