You forgot to use the multiplier....there's some poults you can't see, but should be added to the total. LOL

Actually thats probably about the right number for an average nesting survival rate. If many more survived from each nest we would have a population explosion and if say only 1 or no poults survived the pop would decline in a hurry. So I would say that is about average.

Saw a hen turkey today crossing a back road in Suffield. She was leading 8-10 poults, very small, like chicks. I presume they were just hatched. Hope some survive.

Saw three hens with 10 polts between them yesterday in Mansfield. Eight of them looked about chicken size two looked like they were chicken chick size. Hope a few of them survive.

Those are pretty good numbers for this time of year. In two years we should have some good longbeards to hunt!!

There was about 12 to 15 poults between 2 hens in this group.
