Take a look at this video
Very hard to watch, Yes I know its nature... but still sad.
"Call somebody", can be heard, but that's what the deer is doing.
Bear, or any other wild predator, cannot be expected to act "humane". Great video for those who oppose man hunting animals, and prefer nature to take its course.
Remember, "Deer were born to be eaten".
Agree bill. I was thinking the same . We treat the deer way better than bears do, lol
By "Do something" did they mean go over to the bear and have him switch from a deer happy meal to a human one? That would be the last thing you should do. When a bear is after a meal you don't try to take it away from him!!
Nature is hard no question about it. But I must say if that was my back yard the bear would not of gotten his meal maybe the hose Or the 06 .
Your garden hose? I don't think a bear chewing on the neck of a deer would care if you cooled him down while he's fighting for a meal. 30-06? You'd have some splaining to do Lucy when the game warden shows up with a pissed of neighbor.
I see it this way - we kill the deer to eat, so why not a bear? Are we saying it's wrong to kill deer? Not a pretty thing to watch, sometimes people take bad shots that result in not so pretty outcomes as well.
ive never shot a beaver but have spanked them a few times ..
almost as bad as pissing off a hungry bear, be careful with that one!
Garden hose? He was hungry not thirty. He might thanks but if it was me, I preffer a nice cold beer with my venison.
Neither of them, in my backyard, would get a free pass.
Pretty sure there would be black and brown on the ground if they both wound up on my property.
If I ever shot a 30-06 in my backyard I'd have 4 or 5 neighbors running for the phone to call the cops. Where do you guys live?? You stand to lose a lot if you get caught. I'd never try it, just not worth it.
Man, rough. Between my thinking:
1.) Are you crazy standing there with a cell phone potentially causing a bear to think you are infringing on it's dinner? Dude had bigger kahones then I do for sure.
2.) I will never feel bad grunting loud again - clearly, deer can be loud when they want to be!
3.) Hunters are unique, no problem with me killing that deer and eating it... but I do feel bad for it here. Nature is brutal.
You need new neighbor's BBB mine might have beaten me to the shot.

years ago I hung a deer in a tree in my backyard for couple of days prior to butchering, and one neighbor came over and said it was upsetting his boys, could I remove it.
I said I was planning on removing it that weekend, one piece at a time, and if his boys wanted to learn where their hamburgers and steaks came from I could explain each cut to them.
Over the years I made it a point to talk about hunting with him and why I thought it was better than letting someone else take responsibility for the killing. I wish I had the phrase "Free range / Organic" back then to throw at him.
I hope my neighbor comes and talks to me about having a stand in my back yard. If they don't like that, what do you think its going to happen when I hang my deer?
