Columbia Blacktail Hunters

Day 1:
J.W., Bill Morton and Greg Dearth started their blacktail deer hunt today. Just got word, Bill shot a nice, 95" +/- borderline book buck--a 3 x 3.
J.W. said the weather is great. He saw a Roosevelt elk yesterday, but hasn't seen a deer--yet.

They're in the mountains near Zenia, CA, north of San Franciso, CA.
J.W. had a big hard-horned one in yesterday evening at 8 p.m.--he put one in the boiler room. Beautiful 3 x 3 with brow tines that will score 127" +/-.
J.W. just sent an email with this picture of his buck. Says him and Bill are getting extra tags. J.W. wants a velvet one. :^)
Very fine animal. He should be justly proud of that one.

What kind of broadhead did he use? That thing was devastating.
Dave, JW shoots almost nothing but the Rage 2 blade, impressive isn't it ?
P.S., Dave , dont even think it--there is No-Way you will ever get enough penetration with what You shoot on a hog !

Just got word from J.W. Bill got his second buck, and Greg got one with his recurve. Not bad for three WV boys, huh? :^)
That is great. Some nice looking deer. I like when WV guys do well.
Just got back early this morning from a great trip to California black tail deer hunting. First two pictures are of my deer, third picture of Greg Dearth and the last of Bill Morton. Bill also got a second buck but I don't have a pic of it at this time. We hunted four days with five guys in camp and took seven deer. Four of the deer will easily make Pope & Young. I will try and post a few more pictures later.
