I'll start this off. Talk inches if you want or just take a look, but lets see what you have on camera. I seem to have regular does then a group of bucks will come in every few days.
5 bucks in this picture, I really like the panoramic shot because of photos like this one.
sorry this is the 5 buck picture.
I just really like this picture, i didn't doctor it at all.
Doe and a buck fawn with an attitude...
probably next years shooter...
I have another 11 cams to check but hes high on my list so far.
No deer yet, too busy watching bears like this sleeping at the baits!
Wi p&y, that deer is awesome. What County?
This is the stuff that gets me charged up for the season!!
All ill say is southeastern part of the state.haha
really? you are that paranoid? c'mon man!
That's our house in the background...
I got this fox picture in the back yard, pretty cool i thought, enjoy.
I don't often get cat pics. but got them twice so far this year. This one looks like a nice sized one.
This will be the fith year I have hunted this buck. His home range is on heavily hunted public/private land. I have never named a deer before but last year started calling this guy "Mr. Nocturnal" for good reason!!
That's a beauty, and what a heavyweight! Looks like winter treated him well.
Have his sheds nice growth this year.
Not a great picture, hoping fora better one. Wide not tall, all night pictures of him last year. Date on camera is wrong.
This palmation trait showed up the last two year. Not sure where it came from, never had this before.
The other bobcat pics. I got this year. Look,s well fed!!
This picture just looks really cool.
one of the nice bucks i have on camera so far this summer.
I always like the pictures, but it would be more fun if the county was known on the photos,,,,,,
wish I had this picture, we have a photo of a 120 8 point on one of our bear bait cameras, he likes the seeds,,,,,,, nice buck for Florence county
Portage county...Trespasser
Mike, your trespasser kind of looks like one of those wolf watch yuppies.
The camera was moved to get a better facial picture if they come into the bait again.
Interesting to say the least.
speed, what model Moultrie is that? Great buck, great pic!
Speedkills, sweet pic. I absolutely love big 8's. Is that another deer over his hip way out in the field? If so it looks BIG.
Sent Speed the same request in a PM a few days ago. He must be out checking cams ;-)
These are stills from several videos, but all the videos were from the same night. This is the backyard of my sister's little 5-acre homestead in Dane county. Dead end road with 10 houses on it, surrounded by farmland - lots of human activity in this area. I believe I had one or two of these guys on camera last year. They were still going strong well after gun season and through the winter, but then they seemed to disappear for a while. Last season all the mature bucks in this area were completely nocturnal until the rut. Then I had my top three targets on camera during the day, trotting around with their tongues hanging out. Naturally I had to go out of state for work from the end of October until late November.
My plan is to add one more camera to see if I can get a better understanding of their travel patterns and continue to only pull my cards in the rain. But I also plan on scouting as if I don't have cameras out; invest some evenings doing nothing but surveillance with binos and a spotting scope. I will only hunt out there every 2-3 weeks until the rut. Then I plan on taking 7 to 10 days off and hunting hard the entire time. I believe I over-hunted this area before I departed last October because I knew I was leaving - can't do that this year.
Boys night out, four decent bucks.
Keep em coming boys...love this stuff
I picked up four 2GB cards from L&M Fleet Supply in Hayward recently. One of them seems defective so far. When I checked cams this weekend it said card locked, it wasn't. I checked the card on PC and no photos on it. I formatted the card so I hope it works now. One card so far has worked and two are still out. I should have formatted cards first. Not all cards are same quality so buying a better name brand is a better way to go but I was trying to save money.
One tip: instead of just deleting cards reformat them. When just deleting there will be parts of files left on the card and eventually the card gets full even though it says no photos on it. By formatting it will clear all data.
Buy sd cards on ebay from China. I purchased 20 2gb Toshiba cards for $9.99. Shipping took 6 weeks
A nice one of a doe and fawns
Come on Mike, that last pic just looks like a young buck following a doe;)
I want a dependable card so i will stay with name brands from now on. I do a lot of photography so name brands are proven to be reliable. I want my cams to capture what is out there.
Mike, 350-400+? A beauty!
I purchase my SD card on e-bay also, dirt cheap and work just fine..
Bear 350 Trespassers: Coon hunters, training dogs?
Bear 350 plus. They were on their way to learn how to skin a South Dakota Eel!
Bear 280 - 300 lbs.
Those look like kids using the flash light on her phone to get back to where ever they thought they came from...they look like they are probably lost. Was there a car wreck around there? Looking at the time??? I never saw a coon hunter or dog trainer wearing a nice high pony and tight tank top....not saying that I would mind seeing that once in a while....just never have yet.
Now at two of the four cheap cards I bought that don't work. Definitely will stay with names brands from now on.
Also that pic was taken a couple days ago the date is off...is it Sept yet?
The photo of the trespassers is on some land I just bought last spring. There are a couple of little shacks on the property built by the previous owner not far from where that camera is. One of the neighbors has some parties once in a while. Could be that a couple party goers were looking for a love shack... It's awful buggy out there to be dressed like that!
use good cards and don't format, it just locks them up and causes problems
Sorry Wausau but it is better to format the cards. That clears all the data off the cards and never heard of formatting causing lockup.
I am heavily into photography and have been for a long time so I always use name brand cards in my DSLR cameras and trailcams until this recent purchase of cheap cards.
Bear in Portage Co. Is really dry out in the swamps plus there are hardly any mosquitoes in the woods right now plus few ticks. This past week the baits have been dry. Figure they are hitting the sweet corn fields in the area right now.
First set of cubs to show up this year. Baits are steady and bugs are non existent! If course that will change.
Better get out there now. There rutting already in August...
Sorry to everyone that commented or asked a question about my picture. I haven't been on the computer much lately and just saw your comments today. The camera is a moultrie M880 that i purchased last fall. He is actually a 10 point the G4's are just short and its hard to see them straight on. I also believe that there is another deer farther back but it never came towards the camera so not sure how big it was.
Swampview, it's a little early for that type of behavior. I hope that buck saves some energy for the rut :). Crazy stuff!
Could be two bucks exhibiting that odd behavior. Cannot see the other deer head. Laugh but they do this.
Does anyone have any idea on why this buck is so gray colored?
Just looks to me like he is getting his fall coat. I wouldn't worry.
Fall coat coming in early.
Mike, are all the racks small in your area;)?
No South Farm, all the racks are not small in my area ;^)
Mike, does your gf know you posted that pic?
She doesn't mind Jeff, she posts pics of me/us all over the place :^)
You're not kidding, nice genetics there;)
Yeah, I decided to put my tag on her ;^)
Mike, did you bait her? lol
Had my Truth cam 35 out last night and got 798 pics of nothin!Open area. sensor on normal, delay on 1 minute, multi shot on 3.Anyone know what I'm doin wrong??
Smokey, use top brands and highest writing speeds for photography but for trail cams have had good luck with many types, including cheaper cards from Amazon. What bargain brand failed for you? So far my Kingstons (cheap) have all performed well for two years. Nice to be able to buy two to four for the price of one top-end card.
Ants? Tree moving with the wind? brush/weeds out from moving with the wind?
HAd a Covert go bad this year, started taking pics one after the other until the card was full or the batteries died.
The only thing I can figure is very heavy dew and fog last night up here by Goodman. No wind or ants.Dew looked like heavy down pour. Thanks
Looks like his left side has some good mass. Not that you asked I'd guess a 130 class deer. But a beauty at that. More positive you have a daylight photo. Hopefully he sticks around after he strips his velvet. Good luck to you sir!
This is what a heavy buck looks like.
I got a nice trail cam pic. of a young buck transitoning from summer to winter coat. I cropped it so it would show up better.
This is what I don't like finding on my trail cam!!
FRD. 567, do you mean the minerals you have spread there ;-)
Buckslyr...I'd say he's a tank for sure. He has a much larger body
Not a trail cam picture and not the best quality (used my cell phone). Any thoughts on what this guy would score? Thanks.
Thanks Arrow - I needed a good laugh - you must be in the western part of the state.
@ Arrow--this is for trail cam pics, not your safari vacation
This is a buck I had on camera a lot last year. I had high hopes for him this year. Unfortunately the G3 on his left side is not an inch yet. (not a northern WI buck)
Another deer. There are a couple of inside the ears 8 pointers around too.
Look at his neck, looks strange with no hair. Funny the body has a lot.
RutNUT,,,,,,,,,,, R-E-L-A-X,,, I did't see any place in the original thread that restricts a pix from countries, states, counties, townships, towns, cities or other areas. I further can't find any restriction on types of animals the sex or location that they live. I enjoy seeing pictures from different areas along with different wildlife caught on camera. You never know what's out there when your not.
RutNut,,, I apologize I didn't realize you were the head of the censor dept. for Bowsite and I had to ask your permission first to post a different animal picture. I didn't realize either that apparently when (you) hold that title (you) don't have to follow the request of the authors designated DEBATE FREE. All responses "must" be Constructive and Positive.
If I wanted to make this about my "Safari Vacation" I could have with plenty of pictures.
We used several different cameras at the same location pointed in different directions. Just for you I will post some of those pictures. You can see one hanging on a tree on the zebra photo.
And that's all I have say on that subject Forest.
RutNut Here are some pictures from my Wis. Safari.
Take him early if he keeps showing up? Or wait for the rut to see if a better buck shows?
arrow1, for what it's worth that is a different rutnut. I really enjoyed your pics. I really wish Pat would not allow duplicate usernames. I always log on with this one just for that reason.
Great pictures arrow! Very classy reply to rutNuts . Lots of green gills on here . Love to see some kill photos! Better start a new thread the " censors " are watching.
Doe with her fawn on high alert. Four days ago.
I suspect we've all seen the snorting and stamping of the feet routine...
Here is a brute I've been following the last three years. I got him on cam the other day, wondering if he'd made it through last winter. He's a 12 with a possible three more points depending on if the stickers qualify. I've got lots of video and photos but this will suffice for the time being.
1acrewhitetails,
I thought they didn't exist, but we apparently have 2 of them ;^)
UnkleBoo.... that is a great buck, with amazing brow tines!
Uncle- those are the longest brows I've ever seen, great buck.
Heres my top of my list finished growing. Not my highest scoring deer but the deer im going after
My buddy ain't lookin so good!
wi p&y.... what county are you hunting?
Arrow, I assume your African trip went well? Sure hope so. I leave in six days. Nice pics!
Hope to see him outta velvet
Great pics everyone. I have absolutely nothing on camera that I'm excited about. But we do seem to have a lot more does on our land this year.
1acre-
Are you in a CWD area?
FiveR's, yes I am. Any idea how long it takes to get a replacement tag for a deer that tests positive?
What the ______, I don't even have my stand up there yet!!!! Remembers from last year maybe?????
Notice the dates are all messed up - cheap cameras go down hill fast.
Great Pictures!
Semper FI!
5:30 in the afternoon - this past Wednesday...
That is a neat looking buck Turkeyhunter. Would you shoot him given the chance?
This is the only buck that interests me that we heve on camera. He looks to be an oddball 6 pointer, 2 on his left side and 4 on the right. I like the oddball bucks, So I might shoot him given the chance. It would be even better if my 13 year old daughter got him, or my handicapped buddy.
Rut...
That deer is a skinny buck. No bulk. Almost like a 2.5 year old with a tall rack.
If I didn't kill him my neighbors would for sure...
Suspect car in a break in at the neighbors place. A good reason to have accurate time/date setting in your cameras.
This guy was pretty interested in getting copies of the pictures. Especially another one that showed the license plate number.
Hard for a 'score' to mean much with character like that.
1acre-
Talk to your local wildlife biologist before season.....they might have a few options for you as season starts.
Just a few of the 1.5 year-old bucks that have taken up refuge on my land this year. Every shape and configuration of antlers you can imagine.
Jackpines,
I am in the same boat as you. So far just small bucks that I am seeing on trail cam.
Jackpine, is that a real picture? The deer look so 3D in the picture and it almost looks like some of the deer might have been photo-shopped in. Either way, cool picture.
Pic of 2 biggest deer on land. Better pics of each coming next.
It's a real picture, I don't know why the spike buck on the left has his horn fading out. These 3 bucks are running together and I have at least 3 other little bucks roaming around. This is my last Cuddeback that takes color photos at night and I dread the day when it craps out on me.
Nice buck smokey. he's got a score over 200
