I am starting to get excited. Plenty of deer and bears around.
Saw one of those in the corn field a little bit ago.
Here is a respectable buck.
The art of communications.
Nice pictures Art, I have to take the time to post some here soon
Mike
Nice Art! BTW- Good job on the North American Whitetail article!
Thanks Dale. Dan told me he saw it. Cannot findcit in the book store. Can you bring it to the campout?
I'll try. My son bought it and read it then passed it on to me.
Nice pics Art. I just got 7 cameras hung in Ohio this past weekend, won't be checking them till end of August or early September sometime. Might check my cameras in Pa this weekend.
Not trail cam pics but I thought I'd add them here. Got pics of two bucks out of a bachelor group of five that happened to stroll past while I was lounging during a stroll this past weekend. I didn't get pics of all 5 bucks because I was so intent on getting a zoomed in shot of one that I noticed had a tumor/growth at the base of his right antler.
This photo is one of a 1.5 year old that happened to be leading the pack as they passed.
This photo is a zoomed in shot of the buck with the tumor/growth. The tree on the left hand side of the first photo is that blurry trunk you see on the right hand side that the buck is peaking around. He looks like a 2.5 year old, and I'll be interested to see what his rack looks like when he sheds his velvet.
BTW, both of these photos were taken from about 45 yards.
That is some funky looking tumor on that buck, Dave. I too am interested to see what happens when he sheds all that velvet! Great pictures.
I'll share one of the few good ones I've gotten so far. Activity at some of my favorite spots have been kinda slow, but I'm hoping it picks up soon. Come on, October!!
I named this one "The Jeff Durnell Buck". Lol!
(That's a joke, Jeff!) ;-)
Nice. I set my cameras and only check about every 4 weeks. I also made a licking branch and will stay away for 3 or 4 weeks.
Not the biggest bucks around I'm sure but it's what I got so far...
That is pretty neat. Over easter I showed my 2 granddaughters a bear while riding in the truck. They never saw anything like that in Georgia.

That's pretty cool Stick(that your little one got it on camera! :) Saw one last week with 2 ear tags that my son thinks was the one he saw last month. We see quite a few here in Pike. I always have my pistol on me when hiking, jogging and even biking. Some think I am nuts, but I'd rather be prepared and never need it, than need it and wish I had it! ;-)
stick n string, I wish I had a pic like that of the bear I saw. Might start carrying a better camera with me while checking trail cams. I did get this short video with my phone. When I first saw this guy he was about 30 yards away from me... It never knew I was there.

Not a trailcam pic, but this little guy got a little too close for comfort back in April.
Saw a dark figure walking thru my yard while I was on the lazy boy watching TV one evening. By the time I got to the door, it was coming up my front steps. Apparently the smells coming from the garbage bag on the deck next to the front door were too good for it to resist. I had to bang on the storm door window and yell at him to get it off the deck. Luckily it walked away harmlessly.
Then I suggested to the wife it's probably not a good idea to put (full)garbage bags out on the deck before walking them to the trash cans in the garage! ;-)
Yeah, we have a lot of bears in Pike. I have had my Mckenzie 3D bear attacked twice, watched a big sow with cubs claw up the telephone pole at the corner of our property(and then rub her back on it ;-) and had a cub "den" under our back deck overnight. There have been dogs in the neighborhood mauled and I had a tense encounter with a cinnamon phase bear a couple years ago while gobbler hunting!
Nice pics Mike!
Can't wait to check my cameras in Ohio! Got a few more weeks yet before I get out there.
The boys are back in town Mike!! I'll check cams soon
Nice pics everyone!
Been 3 weeks. Looks like they grew a lot.
Not sure if some of these are the same deer or not.
These deer are passing under 20 yards from the blind in the upper right hand corner.
Thought this was late for poults.
Hi all! Been a busy year but finally got some cameras out, 1/2 rack is best one so far but he will get a pass till next year.
That looks like up around my neighbor's field PMAC.LOL. Nice.
Great pictures guys keep me coming
Glad to see things are looking better in Ohio after the EHD Mike! Looks like you have a couple nice ones running around this year!
Looks more like Phil, When he had hair:)
Mike, I have a hunting again on the the same properties that I have been. That are near you. I have pictures of some nice bucks. The one that I am hopping for is a 6pt. with about a 22-24 inch spread. should go about 140ish.Pa. is looking great too.
Boris in 1990 I had just shot a nice 8 point in Dorsett Ohio, waiting the half hour to get down to track and in comes a huge 6 point, I mean like P&Y big 10 inch plus G2's and 9 inch brows, real wide and heavy, my buddy saw that buck in the back of a pickup hunting that area during gun season he talked to the kid who shot it he said it was 23 inches outside they killed it on a drive across the road from where I shot the 8. I found a chewed up shed from that buck I'm assuming it was from the season before he was killed the brow tine was over 7 inches but the G2 was chewed off. I know a P&Y 6 is possiable in that area, I trust your judgement seeing how you have scored my bucks for P&Y & Buckeye big buck club before.good luck with him
Mike
Those primos cameras don't take very good pictures. Put those cuddybacks out Mikie boy:)
Here is a pic from the only Primos cam I have.
Little better but not much. Awful immature deer though. Might be OK for a mentored youth hunter to shoot.
Put the Cuddeback out the last few days Roy won't check them for a couple weeks.
Mike
Actually Roy, his body does seem a bit small. Maybe he does need a year or two to put some meat on his bones. :)
Nice 2 year old, just hope he makes it a few more years. I do know my son has his eye on him but there is a bigger buck around and i hope one of us get a crack at him.
Mike, there was a clean 6 pt at the Ohio deer and turkey expo about 10 years ago that netted 150 1/8!! That thing was HUGE!!
Ben, I know that buck. I got to measure that deer. It was taken with a crossbow about 30 miles west of Columbus.
Mike, there are some cuddleback trail cams on sale at field and stream for 100$, marked down from 200.
This taken on 8/2/15....Is Sunday hunting legal in PA yet?? :-/
Looks like this ol' gal is heading east...hopefully going to meet up with me in 5C in a few weeks!
Duplicate picture...or twins?
A friends camera at my stand.
Pulled the cam tonite after 2 months 285 pictures
Anyone know or can see what this is?? It's to low to the ground for a deer compared to the other pics I have of deer off this cam.
Good pics guys! I got a new camera for Chfistmas last year and haven't put it out yet because I haven't gotten a lock box yet.... How you guys securing your wild game cams? Mine is the little 8mp version
One of four on my hit list.
So Joe, you just sit on that bench and he walks up waiting to be killed?
Joe and sharpstick, Looks like you guys have a couple dandys to hunt!
Yep some sort of cat. Probably a bobcat
Mike
Holy smokes Don, that what looks to be a 12-point sure is a pretty buck, and by the photos, he looks like he's just now starting into his prime years.
Good to see you posting some Iowa buck photos, although I was kinda hoping for some more food plot mowing pics. :^)
Hope you and yours are doing well.
Nice buck Don good luck with him
Mike
Pulled the card on one of my cameras this morning after work.
Here's the 9 pt in the pics above in hard horn!!
I was in Ohio Thursday and Friday pulling cards and hanging some more stands. Heres a few from Ohio.
Only pic of this buck. Looks like a big 7pt
This one already broke the end of his main beam off.
Dang Ben! that seven is cool! awesome pics guys... it will be here soon
Ben, let me know if you need help with that 7...lol he is a biggen!
