I hunted in NY on a pay hunt a few years back and had my stand next to some apple trees that were in front of the thickest crap around. Every time an apple hit the ground a deer would walk out grab it and go back to bed down. You couldnt even see ten feet through that stuff. It was pretty comical.

I was told by some one (I won't mention the name to protect Steve), that they are not hitting the corn either. They go past the corn to get to the acorns. We have a big acorn crop year. Hope they eat them all fast. It's gonna be a cold one.

Butcher said that all the deer coming in are all full of acorns. They are leaving the apples pears and hay fields alone in my area.

Where I hunt in NY the deer are hitting the apples first and than feeding on the acorns after dark. I have trail cam pics of 4 shooter bucks all visiting the same apple tree anywhere from 230 pm to 530 pm and than they head for the acorns. 2024 pics. of deer on this apple tree in 17 days. Like an idiot I set the timer for 3 seconds, thought it was 30 seconds. Shawn
