One was shot in Burlington a few years back that I believe they said was 480lbs. That's huge! I believe the home owner was arrested.
I had one in Roaraback about that size two years ago. Was in my tree stand, I watched him for 20 min eating acorns along a deer run. He gave me multipal shot opportunities. I've seen several in the NW corner but none as big as this one. Had to be 400 plus.

All the more reason I'll be stopping by Dick's today after work to buy some bear spray. I've never spotted one in the woods, but a little preparation can't hurt.

I carry a pistol while scouting and hunting. Way to many run ins with Bears when hunting Zone 1.
I know its the law not to carry while bow hunting but my life is more important than a stupid no carry law.
Just think: I can carry into banks, stores, home ect ect. but not when I'm bow hunting???
If poaching is the main reason, I'm more accurate with my bow than a snub barrel pistol.
