I've read that people have had luck with deer radishes. Anyone out there try them? Any luck? Not a big fan of the brassica and rape type of food plots. I've had ZERO luck with them compared to beans, clovers and things like rye mixes. Seems like so many of the brassicas work better in the south and not so much in the Midwest. I live and hunt in an ag area so there's already plenty of food here w/o food plots and I think that plays into as well.

Been planting Radishes for years to protect my gardens . Example ; garden # 1 the deer come from the west . I plant a row of Radishes as long as the garden . Eat a few and let the rest flower . The Deer hammer them and pretty much leave the rest of the garden alone .
When I did the food plot thing , I planted Radishes around the edges so the Deer would let the other " stuff " grow .

Been planting radishes for the last 3-4 years? Yes they like them a lot. I also mix in purple top, winfred and hunter brassica's. I try to have a mixture in there as they like the bulbs come Dec and the hunter/winfred stay green until eaten.
Breaks the soil up real nice also.

I've had great success in the past with Brassicas for fall plots, and just started using radishes as well two years ago.
So much fun to watch the deer literally kneel down to grab a turnip or radish, and pull it out of the ground.
The buck in the attached picture was chasing does that were feeding in my Brassica plot.
