Who uses replaceable blade broadheads

If you use replaceable blade broadheads tell us what kind and weight you use. Do you replace blades when needed or do you resharpen them yourself?
I just replace my blades once used.
I shoot Thunderhead 160's for bear, awesome cutting. Cannot by them any more but when they quit making them the company put them on sale and I bought 3 dozen. Don't use to many up bear hunting.
For deer I used Thunderhead 125's but switched to Thunderhead 100's several years ago. Recently I tried to buy some 125's again and could not find any locally at Wal mart, Gander, or Scheels. Go figure.
I did buy some slick trick 100's to try out, anyone have an opinion on them?
That's what I use use Jeff. They are the sharpest out of the box blades sold. Fly true, and leave big holes in the critters they are shot at. I think you'll be happy with them.
Been a fan of slick tricks for over 10 years. I use the 100 magnums. Have killed deer and bear with them. I have resharpened before, but usually just buy new blades now. I prefer expendables on turkeys, but have blown through them as well.
I still use 125 grain muzzy's in my compound. Bought a bunch when I elk hunted. Replace the blades when needed. I should stock up on blades for fear of not being able to get them some day. My recurve I shoot Zwickey elites and hand sharpen of course.
I'm a huge fan of Slick Trick Magnums and Vipers in 100. I just replace the blades and don't try to sharpen them.
I have used Slick Trick 100 standards for quite a few years with good results. I replace the blades rather than sharpen them.
Really glad to hear the good reports on the slick tricks. I was a little worried about the steep angle on the front of the blade not handling bone too well. Guess I will get another 4 pack and some inserts. It sure is a pain to get them out of their packaging.
i use Slick Trick RazorTricks and resharpen the main blades and buy replacement bleeders. Here is a pick from a buck last year that went through the ribs on the near side and exited in the lower part of the shoulder. Bent, didn't break the main blade - good head.
I use Exodus. Better that stick trick or muzzy IMO.
FWIW Sport store in town has some 160 Thunderheads in their abandoned archery shop. Want them?
How are you guys resharpening slicktricks?
Thanks
I have used a ready edge sp? to sharpen blades. Just keep it right on the arrow and make a few passes.
I use 125 gr slick trick mag. They are sharp and fly great .
Slick Trick 100 grain Mags killed a number of bulls and lots of deer. Tough and fly true.
I've used Magnus Stingers for a long time. Never let me down and with a lifetime warranty and good flight how can you go wrong???
Konk, thanks for the link. I just ordered a Stay Sharp for myself. No more holding them in a tiny locking pliers to sharpen them.
Used 100 grain Muzzys for years than switched to fixed blade 100 grain Hellrazors and g5 Montecs. I bring them to a pro knife maker to sharpen. Prior to Muzzys I used thunderheads for years but the muzzys tune on the shaft always vs. thunderheads. All great heads.
I got the stay sharp broadhead sharpener in the mail last week. I used it to sharpen my wasp blades. Im impressed. It worked pretty well. Thanks again Konk for the heads up on this.

Save your money. One of these paper clips works great. You can get a box of 25 for a couple of bucks and they'll last a life time. The key is a good stone not what holds the blade.
That's a slick idea but when I sharpen a 3 blade I don't use any sort of holder. The blades themselves are the guide for the right angle.
I bought the stay sharp guide for my replaceable blades on my wasp heads. So far so good.
I shoot this year the 125 grain Ram Cat,,,, let you know if I get lucky.....
I shoot thunderheads out of my stick bow..... as far as 160 grain. bought some new in the package at the weekly rummage sale in land o lakes last year....
"Konk, do you get any kickbacks for linking/promoting RC's product here? "
Funny stuff there.
The binder clip shown above would be fine with any blade and they come in various sizes for a fraction of the price and can serve other purposes in the house versus an overpriced blade holder. Put your money into a good stone.
Actually not Konk. You'd never ever see me on that site. I felt a little ill when your link landed me there (please put a warning for people in the future) and I still feel icky although I exited as quickly as possible. I used those binder clips for years when I used to use Montecs which were not very sharp out of the package. I had switched to Slick Tricks years ago and now just buy the replacement blades but the clips would work great. Great minds think alike but I still prefer the $0.25 tool to solve the job with a good stone which is the key to the whole process.
Used muzzy MX-3s but switched to the Montecs for strength
The complaining here knows no bounds. Whining and peeing and moaning about every little thing.
I bought the stay sharp sharpener. Its awesome. My heads are sharper than new. Super easy to use and low in cost. I loaned it to a buddy that now bought his own because he liked it so much. LOL at using a binder clip.
I had used Muzzy for years. Switched to Magnus stingers for cut on impact. Love them. Purchased the stay sharp when I read about it. Arrived this past Tuesday. It is great
