First time SD bow hunter, will be hitting the Eastern part of the state near the glacial lakes. Just wondering if anyone has any general advice as to types of locations to begin my scouting, what features I should look for, do I hunt the groves (AM or PM)? I really don't want to screw up any potential spots due to my lack of general knowledge. Any info will help,

glass, set a stand, and hunt. look for out the way areas that will get passed up by average hunter. there are lots of great open spaces with sloughs/lakes around the clark thru webster area. if you head farther east like milbank etc you can get into some nice oak bottoms and tree lines. all depends on where you hunt and what you are used to hunting.
