Evening Food Plot Hunts

I am new to food plot hunting and am wondering what folks do when they have deer on the food plot at quitting time that they don't want to shoot, but don't want alert to the stand location. I have throw objects out of the tree a few times, but am certain that the deer just return after they hear me leave and sniff around until they know where the stand is, and then alert other deer of the threat. Thoughts from this veteran group?

If it's a plot in the woods have someone pick you up on a atv. Or if they can pick you up in a truck.

The method mentioned above is good, but will eventually move deer into nocturnal status. I would look at hunting OFF of the plot on a trail leading in as it will not only help this problem, but will keep human odor away from the plot. Good luck!

I've never had that happen to me dude. But I give my stands a break and don't hunt them often. But if you plan on hunting it consistently then follow dukes approach!

I hunt numerous food plots in the evening and hunt them hard, but also hunt them smart. Learn where the deer enter and leave the plot under the wind and weather conditions. Keep notes, study the deer and learn their patterns. I have only one stand directly in a food plot and that one is a ground blind on the edge of a pond that can only be hunted with a west wind. I have paths that I use to stay out of site to and from the stand.
