I'm taking a play from the drury playbook. I set up this tree in my food plot 12 yards in front of my stand. Anyone ever try this? I put a camera on it also.

I tried this year in 4 spots, got virtually zero response from bucks.
I'll stick to my mock scrapes and rubs on the edge of fields using live trees.

Use an oak branch that still has leaves on it. The bucks in my area will almost always make a scrape under an oak branch in the right location. Something about the leaves still clinging to the branch keeps them coming back for more. Once a Maple branch loses it's leaves, the scrape tends to be less attractive.
Just one man's observations in the deer woods.

I cut a aspen tree about 15 feet tall and planted it in my open field. It had 5 branches about 6 feet above the ground. I made a small scrap on the ground as well a small rub and put scent on both. I did this 2 weekends ago and I'm down to 1 branch with 3 nice scrapes with all the bark rubbed off the trunk all away around. I even had to straiten the tree as they had it pushed over. I placed a camera on the tree this past Saturday morning and pulled my chip Sunday. In this time I had 4 bucks work the scrapes. Now the only problem is a bear has taken a liking to it and I have pictures of him standing reaching up into the tree for what ever reason. Then he tipped my camera over. So far I'm impressed.

Not sure if the t-post and zip ties is the way go....but they seem too work for me. Dig hole, stick in, get scrapes.
