Has been out a week and not a peep here. $40, free shipping. Lots of info to glean. Btw, sconnie is #1 with 11,000 entries, il. Second. Happy to see 3 generations with multiple entries each from the same waupaca dirt. https://www.pope-young.org/store/details.asp?uid=B3042E47-8AE9-4DF9-B124-5E2973EDED70

Novemberforever, where have you been? You have been absent from the board for awhile.

07-Oct-15
Yes by choice. The kid wounding cut tag thread inspired me.

What is the P&Y minimum again? 125"

Cool info November. Especially the last pic but now my neck is sore from having to read it sideways. It makes me proud to be a Wisconsin bowhunter. I am curious now what the ratio is between p&y bucks shot on public/private land. And of the ones shot on private land, how many were on managed property versus unmanaged.

Yes that is the typical dampland

My pics were vertical and when i try to use image tools to flip it 90 degrees nothing happens. No breakdown on public vs private. Or managed vs not lands. It comes with a disc for quick reference. Shocked how many 3x3's make 125 net.

Why doesn't the one stat say that 60% were taken by hunters with less than 25 years of experience, instead of 40% taken by hunter with at least 25 years of experience?

I never entered mine, never really saw the need to, but I had 13 years of experience, on my first, and could have helped Lincoln County a little on their number.

How do you enter a buck? Is it self scored or does it have to be officially scored?

07-Oct-15
Interesting stuff November. Thanks for posting it.

Officially scored by a local py scorer. 3 pics, sworn affadavit, $25.

I entered one many years ago, not a one since.

November are you talking about 3x3's without browtines, with, or doesn't matter? It's much easier for 3x3 with no legal brows to make book then a 3x3 that has brows...I have a 128" typical 3x3 with brows.

07-Oct-15
Any mainframe 6 point. So a 3x3, 3x4,3x7, are all mainframe 6 pointers as the other tines are deducts towards a net 125.

Entry fee is $35.00 not $25.00. It was raised a few years ago.

I paid $45, I think, to have one scored and entered into WBBC a few years back.....but was scored by a P&Y scorer. He signed the sheet as such.

Does that mean it was also entered into P&Y?

Did you get a certificate from both WBBC and P&Y?

Good point. No, I just got one from WBBC..

personally pet peave.... When people tell you the score of the buck they shot, found, or whatever, but never had it officially scored. Not saying if you don't get them scored something is wrong with that, but IMO you can't throw the score around unless you've had it scored.

A score is a good standard to use to describe the relative size of the buck killed, but other than that, it is nothing but a tool for the braggarts.

I don't mind if they state a score but when they say they have P&Y bucks but none are in the book, well, they are not P&Y until officially scored and entered. They should be supporting the organization.

Well said smokey

A lot of PY bucks are just 2.5 years old. An old weary doe is more of a trophy than that!

Moose, interesting point. I have taken 5.5 bucks that don't make the book. Poor nutrition but they are still a trophy to me.

11-Oct-15
I highly doubt any of the entries are 2.5 yo. I have never seen a net 125 2.5 yo.
