Killed a doe so far.
Nicholas County 20 yards Winter rye food plot Slick trick broad head Heart/lung shot 100 yards to recovery
How do u like those slick tricks? I've been a muzzy man but when I got my new bow this spring I got some 100 gr. viper tricks . They fly great and I like the almost cut on contact design compared to my muzzy mx4.
I think I had a chance to find out last night if it weren't for a black lab that chased deer out of field at 6:30.
Love them. IMO, muzzy went downhill 5-8 or so years ago. Slick trick filled my void. Fly great. Good blood trails and almost all deer have expired within sight. Ownership has changed hands so hopefully the quality stays the same.
That was the issue I was having with the muzzy mx4. They flew great and with the exception of an elk, I got pass thrus in 2 bear , an antelope, and I don't know how many deer. I found them all but blood trails were a bit skimpy on a lot of them.
I switched from muzzy to slick tricks this year. Love the fact I did not have to tune them from my field points. They fly great. Just waiting for the opportunity to test them on a big ole Doe.
been using tricks since gary invented them. great man, great product, RIP gary
Kempf Kwyk Styk, 56" 53@28. 500 spined GT and a 175 grain Simmons Tigershark.
Came in grunting.
I had posted this deer earlier, but in another thread: Doe (9/12/2015) Urban Hunt.
This deer was also posted earlier in another thread. I forgot the annual deer thread should have been titled 2015 Meatpole. 9 point (9/26/2015) Urban Hunt. I green scored it at 110 2/8" gross.
Nice deer SpongeBen! Congrats!
Nice ones guys! Congratulations!
My first ever with a bow summer co.
Nice one J.R.... also, I was hoping a turkey would come by this past week.
Congrats on a true trophy!
Got this Wood Co. 8 point last weekend.
Not sure what that is but evidently I don't know what I'm doing. Anyway, got a 8 point.
Nice buck
I fixed picture for you
got 2nd doe sat going for a buck today
Nice deer Everyone! Thanks for fixing pic for me Gobbler.
NP For future reference you can go back after you post a picture and you will see a little box under the photo on the left. If you hit it it will allow you to rotate picture .
IDK why but if I post a picture from my IPhone 90% of the time it comes up sideways and I have to go back and rotate it. Most of the time it works but occasionally it still dosen't work. Maybe it's a software glitch?? IDK
I dont see the box under the pictures. That happens to me too sometimes
You only see the box if you are the one posting the picture .
In the one above that I fixed for turkey2 I copied the picture then reposted it and then used the image tool box to rotate it.
Dr. J.R.,
You have to click the little edit button out from your handle. It allows you to edit text and pictures.
I see an alert and editor button but no alert button. Am I looking at the right screen I am looking at the posts above
If you type a post then above the alert editor window there is a little white page with dots on it and a pencil laying diagonally across it. If you clink on it it lets you edit your post.
I still don't know how you got thru Dental school! LOL
That is a joke :^)
Story is on daily report thread.

Nice buck pawpaw and CONGRATS ! I took a 12 pt a few years ago that had kickers similar to that of your deer. They were on the base of one side just like that. That is what made him a 12 but was not over an inch long on either so he ended up being checked as a 10 pt.
Great buck! Congratulations
I know this is the first year I have been on here but it seems meatpole is pretty thin. Is it always like this? I know a few guys gave posted their own threads with their deer but even with those it just seems like not as many as you would think.
lets just say you will know when the rut gets kicken
A lot of the guys on here are pretty serious bowhunters. They're waiting for the right one.
People are afraid of the Internet police??
Some people get real butt hurt lol and they really don't get over it easy
I know I have passed on quite a few deer and I have only been out like 3 times. Waiting for a bit till the right one for me comes along and now I am waiting on another crack at this bear during daylight hours! LOL
Since it is suppose to get warm for a few days I may try to kill a doe the first part of the week.
Yea but it can be legal and the Internet police can still have you investigaged .,mine was legal.
Let's try again on the picture:
After I shot the 9 above. I shot a doe this past Thursday so I was in compliance with WV State Regs. I had a couple target bucks on my cameras. I was lucky enough Halloween morning to shoot one of them. He came in before daylight chasing a doe. Lucky for me he beaded down tending the doe who was feeding in front of me. Another doe joined after shooting light and he got up and eventually gave me a 15yrd shot. 35 yrd recovery. Did my homework this year and it paid off. Only downside is I am done until Rifle season.
Looks like you had a good year ... Congrats.
Congrats !! Nice bucks A little work and a little restraint really does work and can pay off at the end
Nice buddy. Nice deer. Can't you shoot a doe now?
JR buddy u got to read the posts . He shot a doe in between the 2 bucks.
didnt see the pic. sorry I alwaysjust look at the pics. Lol
Got my second deer this season. Had deer all over me this morning, 3 spikes right under me.
Keep em coming guys. Love to see those bucks. Some nice ones so far.
gobbler maybe that is why I tend to look at the pics without reading the posts

Congrats on the bear Gobbler, nice one.
Shot this 8 pointer in Jefferson county on private land this morning at 20 yards with a Mathews Z7X, gold tip kinetic arrows tipped with 100 grain 4 blade muzzy MX 4. He was by his self cruising. I have only one picture of him on trail cam at night and the one that was on my hit list. Now leaving for Indiana tonight on a high note. Couldn't be happier.
Congrats! Good luck in Indiana!
Thanks Hookman
Nice buck Jay. Good luck in Indiana.
Congrats Wvbowhunter. Good luck in Indiana.
Thanks guys I'm hoping for a good bruiser.
Shot this at 20 yards with my matthews Z2, blood line arrow and muzzy broad head. He came in behind a spike, I shot him and he ran about 15 yards and tipped over.
Beautiful buck! Congratulations
WOW! Awesome buck! What county?
Congrats!!! Great buck for WV
got this one yesterday morning. I broke my collarbone and had to have surgery in September. I'm unable to lift more than 5 pounds with my right arm making it impossible to pull back a bow. I had to apply for a draw loc permit. I received the permit last Monday. This buck came in at 7:30 yesterday morning and I shot it at 20 yards. When we got it back to the house my granddaughters had to get their bows out and shoot it to make sure it didn't get away. Thanks to my son Corey and Jay Chambers for getting the deer out of the woods for me.
Congrats bownut. Way to persevere and not give up
I was blessed with the opportunity to bring home the buck I call Split Ear. I passed on him the two season prior giving him a chance to mature into a 4-year-old. I have had some very memorable encounters with him over the years and feel very honored to bring him home with me.
Nice deer and nice shot. Congrats
thanks, JR. Lots of history with this one. Almost hated to see it come to an end.
Wv mule,
Killing a hoss on Sunday! Good job!
Man look at the neck on that deer. Unreal.
Finally "earned" the right to use my last bow tag on a buck by taking this nanny this evening. I had to pass two real good bucks while waiting on a doe.
Thank you, he was 180 pounds dressed!
Nice shooting Wayne. You still have the Toelke Whip?
Stickbow21: No. Wish I had kept it though. I had Jack Kempf build me a Kwyk Styk. I have a couple of his bows now.
Hope you are doing well!
Shot him this morning. Full story is one the main big game forum under "special buck". Very special deer to me
Nice!! Congrats
After the lower kill last year some good ones are hitting the ground.
HINT-HINT
Don't worry gobbler i I figure they will all be gone this year and we will be back to where we were
One of my good friends shot this bear in Jefferson county on the evening of 11/5/15 outside of Charles Town on the farm we hunt. It's about a mile - mile and a half from Walmart on 340. Everything was legal and he also contacted the DNR as well to see if they wanted to look at the bear for any data from the bear. He dropped it off at the processor and it field dressed at 297 pounds! Not bad for good old Jefferson county. There are mature bucks here as well that no one says there are. There not on every property and you need to find the property there on.
Good bear, congrats to your friend. We are lucky to have such a great game animal in our state. Even though they can tear stuff up. LOL ALMOST every county has a population, some a LOT more than others.
11/12/15 25th buck I saw in 3 1/2 days of hunting 9 pt Jackson Co
Wow, Those are some nice bucks guys!
I took this buck on 11/16/15 in Logan county. I used a 50lb 62" black widow bow, goldtip arrows and magnus stinger broadheads. He came by my stand grunting in behind a doe and gave me a 12 yard shot. I had about a 50 yard recovery.
All great trophies! 21K less bucks now than there was Monday. :-( But 21K happy hunters...
Congrats guys!
I won't post on here cause I always get yelled at for posting rifle kills on bowsite(LOL) but my wife and I both shot nice bucks yesterday . She got the 11 I had been chasing with my bow all fall. It had broken it's R G4 off during a fight sometime in the last couple of weeks . I got the smaller 10 that I was hunting for.
I shot mine at 8:30 and it was the 5th buck I had seen. She shot hers at 3:00 and was the 8th buck she saw. I know some don't think so but you can't get the bigger ones if you shoot the smaller ones at least legally (see related new thread) We both passed some nice 8s while waiting. Hopefully, next years targets.
You could start a firearm meatpole. If they have a problem with it they don't have to look. I am sure majority of guys on here would like to see any legally killed deer.
I did a couple of times in the past, but some people complained so out of respect because it is bowsite I quit . I personally know that a lot of regulars on here are avid bowhunters but do gun and muzzleloader hunt and I thought it would be neat to see what everybody killed but a few complained .
I'd be more than happy to do it again if everyone wanted to. I'll start a thread and do an opinion poll.
I saw a big 10 point killed here in Mason county. Green score 183 typical. There are big ones around.
Harvested this big mature doe this evening here in Jefferson county. One more archery tag to go before the season is over. Hopefully it will happen.
