I got to hunt at the Arden Hills ammo site for a three day weekend. I have been up there before and would see ten or fifteen deer a day. My brother and I sat tree stands for three days and saw three deer. This is about what the other hunters saw also. Weird.

A lot of hunts going on in that place since the last time I hunted it about 15 years ago.

The point of the hunts is to reduce deer. Sounds like it worked.

It is not a good hunt. I work at AH and would never hunt it.

Why?
I work within spitting distance of it (well, long spit) and would be very wary of a superfund site if you are putting food on the table. We know that the aquifer is still affecting the area around Long Lake. Maybe it is now just as safe as any metro area - not sure.
Looked up an article related. They really had deer hunts in there 15 years ago?
