It's a awesome slug gun . I have owned one for acouple yrs now and I couldn't be happier .I don't use it to much in ct . I like taking it up north for bear . And big woods deer . I think I have used it in Franklin a few times and some times I will take it to state lane .

I would recommend Accutips and a better scope. Great deer killer

Hey Emmitt, how much is that shotgun with the setup you described? Rifled barrel?

I have the same gun in 20 gauge and I am shooting Remington 3 inch Accutips with a Bushnell 4200 Elite and am completely confident with a killing shot out to 200 yards. This gun is a keeper and the adjustable trigger is a very nice touch. The only deer gun I need. I don't use a rifle at all anymore. Just my opinion and I have shot quite a few rifle barreled shotguns. A fantastic gun at a decent price. And no, I do not work for Savage!!!

Does it have the knock down power at 200 yards??

You get around 700-900 ft/lbs kinetic energy at 200 yards from a 3" shotshell with a sabot slug. All you need for deer is about 40 - 60 ft/lbs. Plenty kinetic energy left to knock them down.
