Since it seems every other style of hunting has been questioned on here lately is it ethical to sit in a treestand and shoot a deer? The deer has no idea you're there and really doesn't have a chance do they?

Thank god tree stands are unethical, because I sure love to fool them. Like I stated in the other post. Survey the deer, and every single method we use to kill them, might seem unethical. Almost every discussion we get into is basically one opinion versus another, and we sure like to believe our opinion really matters lol.

I'll be impressed when one of you kills a deer in the woods with nothing but what god gave you...otherwise we are all unethical cheaters......obviously.....
Run a deer down and choke it out...and then no one can claim its unethical...well except the antis, to them were still murderers.

If you were to ask the deer for their input nothing would be ethical about any form of hunting. The term 'ethical' is subjective and based on perceptions, not realities. If you were the only person on earth, there would be no use for the term 'ethical'.

I don't think the deer care if you're in a treestand, but what kind of pants you are wearing is what really matters! LOL!

It was pretty funny that 1 st year hunting out of trees . If you were 10 feet off the ground you could throw pine cones at the deer & they didn,t have a clue . But they sure wised up in a hurry .

really? It still takes a little skill and effort to properly set up a tree stand in the right places. I don't know much about where you hunt, but here in Louisiana, deer look up and often spot us in the tree and are gone before we get a good look at them. So stop whinning and get out and enjoy the hunt no matter what method you use.
