I think the forest will be doing well in the future, and even now, there is plenty of feed,,,,,, it will help but the amount of predators, without control, needs to be addressed.
The foresters do a very good job. Think back to all of the good years, the bad years, yet how the deer did recover..... WHY??????
Back than, we had bears, we had yotes and bobcats, yet the deer did well.......
INMHO, WOLVES made the difference, and too many stick their heads in the sand and deny it......

There are problems that need fixing though. The fire borrowing wipes out the budget in other programs in bad fire years and EAJA is a total waste. EAJA needlessly drains the budget and should be scraped or rewritten.
The new policy of the USFS called "Good Neighbor" allowing the DNR and Counties to assist in timber program will help but only if there is money in the USFS budget for it to be implemented.
