While Rifle hunting in Newtown with a friend, he shot a large doe. He told me it had a bad limp. When we walked up to the doe and examined it, we found it had a bad compound fracture of one of its front legs near the hoof. It appeared to be an old injury, as the bone that was sticking out was black and the skin was dried out. The hoof was just flopping around. The doe seemed to be doing well despite this injury, it was fat and traveling with several other females and skips. It was a very nasty break, amazing that it continued to survive.
