OK, we're not quite a bunch of Vikings in an English Pub somewhere in Monty Python land, but....we're pretty darn close!!
Next Sunday, January 17th, 2016, is the "Strictly Sticks Traditional Archers" SPAM SHOOT 3D! Why not?!
For years, our January Trad 3D shoot was a "ham shoot", with hams awarded to top scores. But, often times, due to schedules and various Steelers events on the telly, the top scorers had to depart before finding out they were the winners of ham.
Well, this year, Sticks is changing things up a bit. Instead of competition to win ham, simply being a registered Archer next Sunday will give you a "SPAM of a Chance". You'll even have it in time to take home and watch the Steelers later in the the afternoon. (Fried SPAMMICHES and a cold-one, cheering on the Stillers. How much more traditional can you get?!)
All registered Archers on the sign-in sheet will have their names put in the basket for SPAM drawings to be held at 10:30 AM, 11:30 AM, and 12:30 PM. Just like the TV show "Whose Line Is It Anyway?", the scores don't matter. You could shoot and miss every critter, or you could Robin Hood every shot. In this random SPAM-ification, what only matters is YOU being here and being a part of the fun!
As usual, the course will be different. Yes, some of the pathways may be the same, but that's where the similarities end. Where we will go is still brewing in the Crew's collective noggins.
If you are open, available, and looking for something Traditionally Fun to do with your recurve, longbow, or selfbow NEXT SUNDAY, January 17th, you'd make our day with a visit!
Just like every shoot, we can't control the weather. We won't even hazard a guess. Nuf said!!
8 AM til 1 PM. That's the time. East Huntingdon Sportsmens Association clubhouse, Sportsmens Road, Alverton/Scottdale. That's the place.
SPAM. That's what those Bloody Vikings had in that Python skit.
Be a Viking....with a bow....
WHY NOT?!! It's SPAM!!
See yinz all next Sunday!
And, THANK YOU from The Crew

Crap, he kicks butt with a bad shoulder. Just think what he can do with a "bionic" one! <')))><
Man! Its gonna be a vvvvvvvveeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrryyyyyyyyy looonnngggg summer for you. Hope its not your drinking arm! That could be terminal:^)
Two grump a$$es in the same room! I'd love to see that!
CONCERNING THE SCHEDULED STICKS SHOOT SUNDAY:
According to the weather forecasters, there will be a chance of thunder, or volcanic activity, or beautiful blue skies, or snow, or cold temps, or balmy 70 degrees, or lightning, or locusts, or 4 horsemen riding through.
PLEASE PREPARE ACCORDINGLY!
Thank You, from The Crew
Now, return to the ongoing lively debate about RC, pork Products, and Mountain Men. That is all.
It will be good to see friends tomorrow!
We had fun with the new pathways that were just discovered and used, and WE HOPE everyone appreciated the humor that was behind the SPAM/RICE-ARONI Random prizes. Monty Python and Don Pardo would have fit rather well into the regulars who attend Sticks.....
The next shoot in February happens to coincide with Valentine's Day....it's just the way Gregorian Calendar works. There should be some comfort, though, knowing that old Cupid uses a rather short, "tree-stand" type recurve/horsebow, and some rather high-grain kinetic energy arrows; because all of the images of hearts show a rather nice heart pass-through.
Something to think about, eh? Well, you have a full month. We doubt Cupid will make an appearance, though....
Till then...again, from The Crew of Strictly Sticks, THANK YOU!
Bob, watch what you start. Next that Dale guy will be coming for the dress competition. That got UGLY the last time.
