Anybody find any sheds or see any bucks dropping antlers yet? Was glassine a field towards evening and saw a buck with just one n was thinking maybe dropped one!

Pulled the camera and had one buck that had shed his horns. Typically the bucks in our area hold on until mid Feb.

I pulled the cards last weekend on two camera's. On one camera I had two half racks. Very early to see that around me. Usually Feb/March around here.

Very early this year for whatever reason. -I've seen a couple that have dropped and have talked to some other guys in the immediate area who were actually seeing some the first week of January, which is not typical in their areas either. Same holds true for a deer farm operation that I talked with, which is way ahead of normal years?
I always thought it was strictly nutritional and genetic based, but the deer around us have not been stressed yet this winter. El Nino weighing in?

Strange. Seems awful early with all the good forage / nutrition available and mild winter. The deer index has to be less the 15. Maybe. The stress of to many seasons?? , maybe the moon phases.??? Just a thought.?? Maybe wishing up no antlers won't get shot. L0L

I found a dead buck that had shed his antlers,this buck was injured for a couple weeks though.

Ive been watched a group of 10 bucks the past week all still carring. Checked cams last week still have all my bucks holding including 2 booners. Too early for me to start looking and bumping deer. Another month. Generally not worth looking till after 2-15

Took a walk for sheds yesterday with the melting of snow - no luck!
But did get to do some off - season scouting which is always fun!

Had 8 bucks on camera over the last week and all but one had both sides. One had half rack. But there are guys finding them. I know a guy who has put on 25 miles walking around but has only found 3. I think it is early yet.

Typically in our area the bucks start shedding around 2/1-2/20. I did have a buck on cam last week that had lost both sides though. Heading out on Monday before the blizzard.

Nice job GM. I put in 3 hours with my dog the other day. Came up with nothing. She did manage to find one dead deer and a dead yote. Saw 3 bucks and all of them carrying except one with a half rack. I'll scour that areas one more time in 3 weeks. I did identify all the bucks beds. Ill be in the north woods the next 3 weekends to do my yearly spring scouting. I will post if I manage anything to find any.
On a positive note. For anyone who knows of the buck I shot this year and couldn't find. The land I believe he is living on right now. The owner granted me the rights to shed hunt. A man can only hope:)

I have a dozen so far, I picked up one on Friday that was just starting to get chewed on by squirrels, it had a 6" base!! This was my best day, March 3rd.
