I have been hooked on ground hunting for a long time. I was wondering, how many on this site, hunt a lot on the ground, both public and private......
I am not talking about using pop ups (nothing wrong with that), I mean truly, just hit the woods and hunt.....
If so, it would be nice to learn, your techniques and any tips you can suggest......
this is scouting time of year, and nice time to learn stuff....
I have met very few, but one guy I met, from western wis has had very good results,,,,,, so maybe there are more of you

Did quite a bit of it this year with my recurve. Saw deer about every sit. Very enjoyable hunt. Move through an area, find the best sign, then set up in the best looking cover around. Most times I needed to add or subtract items to make the blind sitable, but sometimes had to do nothing.

Hunting on terra firma rocks.
As long as you've performed your scouting, have adequate cammo, cover to conceal as you play the wind you should be good to go.
Don't necessarily prefer it but like the option depending.
