The First deer supper I made was Sauerbraten, then chili, then Venison Bourgione over German spaeztle (see photo). Gave some meat away to non-hunting, yet supportive friends - they get a big kick out of it. Can't wait till next season. Mad Dog

We just put up 30 pounds of ground, mixing it with pork shoulder. Crazy that ground sirloin beef is close to $5.00 a pound here. And the ground venison is so much better.

I tell people all the time, if done correctly it is the sweetest most delicious meat you can eat. I was just down in Columbus, OH last weekend and stopped at the market to see this hanging up...

Of course I dragged my wife over to the sign and told her.., "See honey, all that time in the woods is worth a lot more than you thought"
She was not impressed...

you guys are making me think I should have arrowed one of the little skippers instead of letting at least 15 walk by!
It's my first year without venison in a long time. :(

I made some venison stuffed cabbage last week. Both trays gone in a matter of minutes.
