Had one in Plymouth in my yard near the water shed he was about 400lbs. He seen us and left. I planted fruit trees and my first year of bearing fruit there wiped clean.

This would be pretty early, wouldn't it?
With the weather we've been having, I guess it shouldn't be surprising, but...

with more and more bears in the area I hunt. does anyone pack a gun with them. in the pass I've seen a couple hundred pounders in the area, and I do carry bear spray with me. but now a friend of mind has a trail cam in our area that the size of these bears has doubled. I'm not looking to shoot one on the spot, but I'm looking at some more personal protection.

We've had 3 sightings of the same untagged bear in one week in Oxford. Once on my deck looking for bird feeders, once in my garage tearing up the garbage in the bins, and once by my neighbor coming out of his driveway. We saw a small one last year about 120-140 lbs, but this guy was easily 300 pounds plus. I shot one couple of years ago in NY that made P&Y at over 400 pounds, but this guy seemed bigger than him.

I had one run across Rte 67 in front of me this morning in Roxbury. I would say he was the size of the first photo in this thread. He stopped in the woods and I also stopped and said hello to him.

Winchester a few years ago. Tore my camera off the tree and left either a tooth or claw mark on the lens.
