Did this for years & a bowsiter asked me to report on the current market .
Shotguns - continue to slide , even the Turkey guns are a bit soft . The classics , Model 12's & auto 5's continue to drop in price . The next generation waqnts lite wt & choke tubes .
Deer rifles , what can you say . The big box stores have flooded the market with scoped rifles for under 300 bucks . Tough sell .
EvilBlack guns - very soft . So many new ar's have flooded the market . A guy offered me a Bushmaster for 500 . I countered with 400 . He left . 1 hour later he handed me the gun for 400 .
Handguns _ WOW , Thinking of selling a WHEEL gun , PM me . S& W's and Colt revolvers are bringing top dollar . The Snake guns are bring stupid money .
Auto loaders Glocks & so on are average , 400 to 500 .
OH , ammo prices are droping , and inventories are getting better .
I cant give away a long gun right now. Dont want to sell, but the fast cash would help. No interest in them. It's a bit crazy really.
I have gone to all the gun shows, the Bob and Rocco shows, heck you get a better buy at a retail store......
bought and sold ammo at the sportsman rummage sales, which are popular.....
my go to gun, for carry in the woods tramping around is my reproduction 1873 peacemaker in 45LC, that gun will put a spark in ya,,,,,
RC I am a side by side guy, if ever, just let me know
"S& W's and Colt revolvers are bringing top dollar"
What is a Colt single six .22 cal worth?
Buy buy buy! My family is reaching the age I need to pick up a few more shotguns and rifles. AR style guns are still in demand. Any thing cc size is also easy to sell.
Bad advice Jakes . For 7 years guns & ammo sales have been crazy because of fear generated by the Obama gang . When a Republican gets in office a lot of people that over bought for 7 years will stop buying .
The factories know this and will back down &/or stop floor planning for gunshops this summer .
PB , Blue or nickle ? Barrell length ?
2 dealers that sell AR's only had terrible shows .
CC guns ? Fleet farm , Dunnams are very reasonable .
Snake Guns are ridiculous right now, I wish I would have kept all the ones I had in the past! Everybody bought black Guns a couple years ago and the low priced ones are not doing anything but the higher end ones are still bringing good money. The problem with center fire rifles is like Ruger said all the box stores have cheap, POS plastic stocked ones with a scope for $300. My P64 M70s are even soft but still going up al be it slower than before.
PB Colt snake guns are bringing top dollar, unfortunatly their single actions are stagnant. 1st and 2nd generation SAA's and older ones are still hot but 3rd generation SAA's are not moving at all, they are worth pretty much the same as they were 15 or 20 years ago and with inflation that means they actually lost value. The 22 single actions have never been real popular with the collectors and still are not.
Want to buy a stoeger m3000 for sporting clays and birds.. It always takes me forever to pull the trigger on a big purchase (pun intended)
Snake gun? Is it the python.? Is Rick grimes and the walking dead pushing sales.
Yes Walking Dead is helping sales! Every time I see him being told to drop the gun I scream in my head"don't drop the Python, place it gently on the grass!" Snake Guns are Pythons, Diamondbacks, King Cobras, Anacondas, and the ultimate the Boa.
I have a late 1950's King Cobra that I picked up for a crazy price I won't mention here.
It has a little holster wear on the bluing, but looks and runs great otherwise.
What would you guys call "crazy money" for a gun like that???
How about a Python Hunter, complete with case and accessories, in 95% condition?
Ruger - the Colt single six .22 cal is blued with a 4" barrel.
Capt there are 2 python hunters . Saw 1 at the show with the Burris scope for 3900 . It was still there Sunday .
PB thats a 4 3/4 barrel . .Clean no box about 350 . Add another 50 for a box . Add another 50 if you have a Magnum cylinder .
66 , King cobra in 95 % condition , about 700 .
Ruger, thanks. It has a Leupold scope that came with it as part of the package. Yes, I've seen them in the upper $3,000 to mid $4,000 dollar range when offered for sale, just did not know what price they are actually selling at.
The real crazy prices are on NIB guns that are lettered by colt.
Thanks Ruger. While you are at it, what is a Marlin 39A lever action .22 worth?
CC=Concealed Carry Ruger.
I dont think gov't fear is driving all the sales. Self protection and the shooting hobbies are growing. We have multiple indoor and outdoor shooting leagues beginning. Concealed carry permit sales have skyrocketed and gun sales are reflective of this.
Sorry Jake but the CC gun run is over . Concealable autos & wheel guns have been the same price for about 3 years now .
The older Colt & S & W concealables continue to go up in price but for different reasons . I think that confuses the market a bit .
PB MARLIN 39A,s bring top dollar . Impossible to put a price on one without seeing it . Theres over 25 variations . Clean 39A , 350 to 750 .

Ruger - then I did alright. I bought it at a yard sale for $75 about 10 years ago. It looked like it was brand new then and still does.
