I saw my first fawns today in Columbia county. They were tiny too, couple days old I believe. That is a bit early I believe. Normally very late May or first of June is when I start seeing them. Shawn

I had two cross the road in front of me with mamma in Downsville, very small this was a week ago.

From a out May onward as I got my cameras out, I was seeing several does but also coyotes on camera each time I checked. Fawns should be evident now but I've only seen one doe with a single fawn. That's kind of troubling. I'm hoping maybe the does dispersed somewhat to drop their fawns so as to avoid conflict with other fawning does. At least I'm hoping that's what it is but time will tell. Did pick up this fella though....a repeat from last year but looks to be declining.

Latest look at the cameras shows another pair of fawns...good sized..so maybe my theory was correct to some extent.

I had 2 ( look like the were just born a few days ago )with mom right behind the house yesterday.
