How long will the stripers stay in the Housatonic?

From: notme
07-Jun-16
As long as the baits there..theyre chasing the last of the river herring up to the dam, then bunker.

28" is minimum length and (1) per angler is the daily creel limit in Connecticut - I'd say they are all keepers.

Ima catch, take photo, release guy... unless I get a request from someone who wants one to eat.

I miss the old 38" keeper rule,I still go by that.

They had a slot limit in the early 90's for a year..it was too complicated for most..something like keep 1 fish between 22-29 and 1 fish over 40"..

From: Will

Nice fish for sure. Notme, I think Maine still has that same slot limit. it may be 22-28, and 1 over 40... But it's about the same. Definitely surprises folks if they are not used to it.

I remember when the size was 16 in and no limit we caught them on sandworms trolling around the islands in Norwalk

From: notme

Tube n worm..still effective if you can afford the gas..those were the good days Steve, lots of big fish around then.
