I already have my cp license, and they told me I would get a free farmland tag, later in the summer....
thanks in advance
You will be able to print out the tags starting June 15th.
That's when they will be available.
You will be able to get 3 for your archery and 3 for your gun license.
Last year when I purchased my CP license I needed to declare the county and public of private for my antlerless tags in Waupaca county.
With 3 free tags will we be able to split them between public and private for all 3?
From the 2015 regulations
Tags, Licenses and Permits • One Farmland Zone Deer Carcass Tag is included with the purchase of an archer or crossbow and gun deer license. Use is restricted to unit and land type specified, with some exceptions:
• Class A and C disabled hunters and qualified U.S. Armed Service personnel may use this tag statewide; tag is land-type specific (public access or private).
•Youth hunters receive one Junior Antlerless Carcass Tag valid statewide for the 2015 season. Beginning in 2016, youth hunters will need to specify the land type (either public access or private) when purchasing their license. NOTE: This tag is valid ONLY for the youth to whom it is issued and may not be filled by another hunter.
The saga continues.....
That is why I suggested a better option for CDAC's my be to stick with the one farmland tag and increase the number of private land bonus tags. This would reduce the harvest pressure on public land which generally doesn't have as many deer.
Keeps the people happy who are in areas with less deer, and allows people on private land that think they need to reduce the herd freedom to buy as many tags as they want.
I
They have never sold out of private land bonus tags since the inception of the bonus tags in Waupaca county. There are plenty of tags available.
The issue is not the number of tags, it is a mindset that does should not be harvested that needs to be changed.....
Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of places where the population is at goal or under in Waupaca county, but there are also areas where the herd needs a good thinning.
