I've owned and for the most part have had good luck with Moultries, but never owned this model. Looking for some input/opinions before I buy one.

Scheels has the Gen 2 Moultrie 990 i's on sale for $119, were $169. This seems a pretty good buy too.

I bought my 990 on-line (e-bay) last year for $119, thought that was a good buy also. Only problem if they brake down I think your screwed.

I guess I have been lucky, never had a Moultrie break down. Still get great pics with old I-40 but it is just not compact. Scheels told me there is 1 year warranty vs 2 year on new model.

I have several 880i and had good luck with them. The G just means Gander Mountain I am told.
The 990i that I had worked well for three years then the IR quit working so it basically became a daytime cam. They talked me through some fixes but none worked so they offered me a partial credit ($30?) for a new cam if I returned the old cam.
Staying with Moultrie and will buy at least one more soon.
I had been building my own but now commercial cams are better.

I bought 12 Moultrie 880i's last year. I had issues with half of them. I called Moultrie and they sent replacements right away.
I use them year round and haven't had any other issues with them.
