yes there have bee herds up there for years - those are not albinos either those are real white deer - very cool

They are pure white deer not albinos. I know the guy who first brought them in to the US back in the 60's I think it was. He lived in Eldred NY which is in the Catskills. They got loose and headed up to the Ft Drum area. I saw these deer in his enclosed property in the mid 70's. Pretty cool. If I can find the pictures Ill scan them and send them. He also had a bunch of Red Stags that he brought from Germany. He was originally from Alsace Lorraine area. True story! He died about 10 years ago. I wont mention his name but Ill give you a hint. If you have ever heard of a restaurant called the Triangle Hoffbrau in Queens NY, he was the owner.
