EARLY 3B elk tag

I drew an early 3B north antlerless muzzloader elk tag. Went up last week to check out the area and found little to no sign of elk in the area around silver springs golf course. Does anyone have any good advise for this unit for an early cow hunt.

Follow the bugles. You should be able to sneak up on a herd with a bull at this time of the year. Done it twice.

Are the elk going to be very vocal the first two weeks in August?

Within two or three weeks from now, bulls won't be. But cows and calves always are.

I know the area very well. This time of year I have seen herds of 30-40. try around pintail lake.
