Can someone rent camping gear such as tent, cots, sleeping bags, lanterns, propane, stove, cooking utensils to some out of state hunter and not be a guide or outfitter? Included would be set up and take down of camp. Camp would be set up at the hunters desired location. No hunting help, packing out or guidance included.

Knot:

If you haven't already done so, read R12-4-208. You should also run over to the Mesa office of AG&F and talk to enforcement.

Hey Dave, Nah. I was talking to someone at the sunrise 3D shoot and he said it was considered outfitting and a person would need the appropriate licenses and permits. I disagreed. Then I forgot about it until a couple days ago.

You're the business man Dave, not me.

So what was the answer?

You do not need any special licenses or permits as long as you are not assisting with the hunt in anyway other than providing camping supplies.

National forests may require special use permits, depending on the forest.
