As I walked there the woods to check out a few of my stands there are very few acorns these year and are also very small
Is going to be a good year as the deer have to move at to feed?
Iam thinking so

Too early to tell yet because most of the development of the acorn will come now (late summer) as we get a little late summer rain. That's why the ones you see falling now are small (undeveloped). But soon they will fill out. I hope they are spotty, just enough that some trees produce and the deer concentrate on that tree(s) Makes for a great set up spot...

right with you! Go a tree rat nest right above my patio near the hot tub and I have to blow off the whole and half eaten acorns and then vacuum them up every day! Tons of them again.

The white oaks near me have alot of leaf damage. They are also dropping alot of medium/large sized acorns already.

Seems like mostly red oaks dropping the most over here. Can't even sit in my deck without a helmet right now

gypsy moths are causing the leaf damage, eating the leaves in the eastern half of the state like crazy.

OK - going out and buying a pellet gun this weekend or a trap for the treerats. They are just littering my deck, patio and hot tub with jillions of half chewed acorns, dropping leaves from their nest building and knocking over my wife's potted plant. I think their doing it intentionally just to torment me.

The deer are visiting my back yard daily to eat the acorns here in lower Fairfield Co. This has been for the last week or so. I also see them in my neighbors front yard, 2 large red oaks.

My backyard is loaded with acorns! I hope it's just me trees and not ones where I hunt.

I am seeing a really good crop of acorns at my private land spots. Kind of disheartening, I don't want it to be like last year. I guess setting up near the white oaks are key again this year.
