It's like that around here too. Just don't like hunting in backyards. Go to the SGL and all you see is chipmunks and turkeys.

I hunt urban areas and do quite well. Funny thing about it it's the only place I get any peace and quiet. When I hunt in the country its four wheelers and other hunters. I can go all season in the middle of the city and never se another Hunter.lol my neighbors like me killing off the deer, their tired hitting Deer with their Land Rovers and seeing deer eat all their shrubs.

Funny I just moved to Buck's county from NY and I drive basically from one side of it to the other side twice a day.....I can't believe how many deer I see.

Those pictures are why guys from the SE think they are great bow hunter's. Like shooting fish in a barrel.

Fish in a barrel? Nope, sounds easy till you try it. They know the difference between Camo and some one looking like they are mowing the lawn.

And, it is funny, sometimes it is more quite than Bradford County SGL's.

John,

I often thought about ditching my camo and treestand, dressing up in street clothes and having a dog decoy like I was walking it. Bet you could get well within bow range doing that! ;-)

11-Aug-16
The dog decoy is a nice touch, think of that yourself?

My favorite is the guy mowing his lawn in January at 3:30 till dark, cause you know the grass needs to be mowed in January.

Yep. But I got the idea from talking to guys that have hunted suburban areas where people walk their dogs right past their treestands! :)

Mowing in Jan.................now that's a good one! ;-)

LOL, I tried that suburban hunting a couple times. Last time a couple kids walked past my stand cutting through the woods from one backyard to another and then some dogs went running by and a guy went walking through the woods looking for his dogs and a guy down the street was yelling at his wife and the guy came back without his dogs that went runnin by a little later... not what I go hunting for. I go hunting to get away from all that. I don't gotta kill a deer that bad that I would waste time sitting in the woods behind my neighbor's house. Heck, I don't even like my neighbor! Although I do remember the time I shot a doe and his shephard found the gut pile and puked it up on his kitchen floor... so there are positives to suburban hunting!

Been there for 15 years & never had anyone ruin a hunt. I've had lots of help from neighbors whose habits I've patterned. I've had help from my neighbors landscappers. I've had help from people walking their dogs. I just never had a hunt ruined.

We had a nice spot in Upper Merion near the Gulph Mills exit that we hunted for about 8 years until our entry point got sold. A retired doctor donated it to the Township with the distinction that it be kept open for public outdoor use. Lots of great memories.

13-Aug-16
Had one in Worcester next to the NE Ext. It was a fun 7 years till that got sold. Tons of doe to shoot.
