Took a little walk yesterday down behind the house and the Squirrels are already eating the Red Oak Acorns ! I knew they must be eating something because they've been leaving my bird feeder alone !

God bless ya,

Ron

Very few if any white oak acorns at my place in Monroe county. Lots of red oak acorns. Most of them good but quite a few soft and rotten inside.

Acorns are spotty here too. When there are no acorns you won't kill many deer but if there are a lot of acorns you won't kill many deer. Lol I'm know I say that a lot but I have heard the DNR say that several times. Hahaha

Every white oak, red oak, black oak, chestnut oak, and pin oak are loaded here in Boone and Lincoln counties. Most I've seen in several years.

Some areas i hunt are heavy with acorns some not so good. The places where they hit are really loaded with white and red oak like walking on marbles .

I have read those things before. LOL. I seriously read two different articles in the journal. one said that the deer would be hard to find because there was a lot of mast. The other said deer would be easier to find because there was a lot of mast. No kidding.
