With several major fires underway in the State, has anyone's Fall plans been altered? Without a doubt the fires are long overdue and the Eco system will benefit from them in the long run.

I hope it doesn't screw up your hunt! I'm watching the Gillette area.

The majority of the fires are under control after much effort by the fire fighters. With the sad state of our beetle ravaged forests, Summer wildfires will be a part of the Rocky Mountain west for years to come.

Thanks. I assumed he had more information than I had. There is a lot of elk country still open in 13. From my experience, the area closed has pretty low elk density and is mostly mule deer country. In short there are a lot of areas left that hold elk there.
