Thoughts on current acrage prices. Whats everyone seeing for prices in there area? Economy seems to be holding land values steady.
Marathon Co seems to be around 2700 for farm and 3ish for dry timber but land is also in larger chunks not 40 acres

Richland county I have seen low 3,s to over $4,000 per acre. That low $3,000 number is from a couple years back.

Right around $3k/acre in Burnett County...but that was before oak wilt killed half our trees and the wind blew the rest down. Probably worth whatever someone's willing to pay per gallon for blueberries now..

Lincoln Cty. I know of a 80 that's going for 79k and I know of a 5 acre patch for 49k so they are all over the place.

I sold 30 acres in a prime location of Waupaca County last fall that was about 50% ag and 50 timber. Not a real good ratio, but got $3900/acre simply because the area really produces a lot of deer and some very good ones as well.

"Hold out for a while unless your looking for farmland, rec land has peaked, only downward from here." Seems I hear that every year in central wisconsin yet the prices hold steady or are rising for rec land.

It highly depends on the type of ground your buying . Marsh or wetland's are a lot more reasonable then open oak wood's .

I go to my counties website and research what land is going for. I did this before I sold my land to try to find recent comps in the area and what the land sold for.
