Rut timing and other ??

Hey guys, my youngest is stationed at Ft Sill. I'm going to be headed down there for Thanksgiving week to do some hunting with him, and I'm wondering what the OK rut timing was. Hoping it's still in swing when I'm there. We most likely will be hunting on post but if any of you have any suggestions for public ground in the area we'd sure appreciate the heads up. Thanks!

I'm no expert on the rut but the wildlife department has published before that the OKLA rut usually peaks about nov 5th. I've seen em chasing mid October to mid December but early to mid November is best imo, the colder the better, but they are usually still chasing when gun season starts, sometimes in lockdown with a doe, in northeastern OKLA, that's my 2 cents worth lol, good luck.

I'm with stickshooter on this November 5 is when it starts. I've killed most of my bucks November 17-21
