I got home from work about 5:30 Pm. A quick shower and I was up in the treestand behind my horse pasture by 5:50. A lone doe came down the trail at 6:45. I'm buck hunting now!

Nice bear! What do you think it weighs?I have no clue.
Edit,, I just realised (below) I posted this on the Nj meat pole. So I copied and pasted it on Bowjo's bear thread.
Ok some of you got to be hunting bear today.. How about some you post some check in's here. Love to hear how it's going. Everyone have a great time and be safe. Ed
two year's in a row, I shoot a crippled buck that walks on 3 legs. Meet the "Texas Longhorn". I had been getting evening pics of him for some time, but didn't realize he was injured so badly. Came in at last light and I just felt it was the right thing to do. He weighed 169 dressed on certified digital scale at Jorge & son's butcher.
another view from the side - bizarre, eh?
believe it or not - he was a 2.5 year old 6pt last year, here he is under my stand in September 2015. I have a pic later in December where that leg is clearly injured. The asymmetrical curvature of the right antler is perfectly apparent on this year's right beam.
Jack, You didn't have to shoot him. You could've sent him to rehab. I know where they have an extra 20 grand lying around for just such a purpose....
"Nice bear! What do you think it weighs?I have no clue."
Elkman, About 250 lbs.
Nice Bear Ken- congrats. Did you get out for NJ Bear?
No. I had the week before off for my NB trip. Now I'm saving my vacation time for Alaska next May.

Is Jack the only one to kill a deer!
I killed a nice doe yesterday evening. Heart shot at 24 yards. It ran about 100 yards before crashing. I didn't get any field pics but I'll post a shop pic tonight.
