Wondering if anybody knows if when the youth deer season starts in MN? Also, do the kids need to have gun safety if they are sitting in the same blind?

They would need either an apprentice hunter validation or a hunter safety certificate. The season is Oct. 20-23, but not in every zone. Zones open are listed on page 34 of the Hunting Regs Booklet.

They can shoot anything no restrictions.

Thanks for all the help guys. We got out and she missed a doe with a shotgun then we had an opportunity slip by when she had the crossbow. Maybe next time. I did fill my turkey tag, so there was that.
