Former UBP President, Dale Miller, passed away Friday night of a heart attack.
Dale was one of the best of the best.
Rest in Peace Dale and may all your sunrises in Heaven, be October sunrises.
Sad to hear this. I always enjoyed talking with Dale at all the UBP events. He could always tell a story, and capture the attention of all who were in earshot of him. I will say a prayer for him tonight, and a few for his family.
Yes I heard yesterday. We as Bowhunters lost a great friend and comrade in Dale. I really enjoyed his writing although I didnt get to see his columns much.
I met him years ago when we each had Instructor/leader training at The PGC Headquarters for the Bowhunter Ed program. He was a standup man who was not afraid to speak his mind. He supported his BE team to no end!
We were both posting our hunting pictures on Facebook on Thursday. I can tell you he was at peace in his treestand because it showed in his posts about that hunt. So He got to hunt again and I Believe he passed while at his cabin in NY. I hope to be that lucky at my calling.
I learned much from Dale. Im damn proud to have walked beside him.
RIP Dale, Thanks for all you did for us hunters. You will be missed.
I heard the news yesterday, I loved listening to him speak about wildlife, etc. Very intelligent man. RIP, Dale.
RIP Dale!! Thanks for the work you did for all of us
the next arrow off of the bow is in your honor

Thanks for being my friend.
I, like many met Dale attending UBP events. While I never spoke much to him throughout the year, we would always have our catch up time at the Winter Banquet. We would discuss family, my work, his place in NY, the PGC, and bowhunting.
He had the unique way of making you feel like you had just talked to him, even if it had been months since your last conversation. He was passionate about many things, and he let your know where he stood on those issues. No beating around the bush. I like that in a person.
You will truly be missed Dale. The Winter banquets just won't be the same. Rest in peace!!

So Sad Gene and I saw him at the 5C doe hunt, We just loved him. He was such a great guy and always fun to be around. We will miss him dearly. Our prayers go out to his family. R.I.P.
Sad news. Rest in peace Dale. My condolences to his family and to all his friends, of which he had many. I wish you a safe and happy Journey Dale.
Sad to hear, as another have said he was a stand up guy who had the integrity of bow hunting in his soul. Thoughts go out to his family.
Jr..
Yes- what a shock! Dale was one of those you expected to see every year at UBP events. He will be GREATLY missed! Dale was a true gentleman and a diehard advocate for bowhunters and hunting in general! I will miss sitting around the fire and talking to him. Just glad we got to see him one more time at 5C! And sounds like he went out doing what he loved! How appropriate! ;-) Will say some prayers for he and the family!
I am proud to call him a friend... and nobody did an invocation, or grace better than he.
He loved bowhunting, and he loved the Lord
Sad to hear.I remember Dale from the UBP Disabled Hunter Banquet and emails we exchanged on starting a bowhunter roundup group in Tioga county...RIP to truly fine gentleman who loved bowhunting
The hunting community lost a great man last week. Dale's words, wisdom, friendship, and his jokes will sorely missed by many in the years to come. Dale is buried close to the edge of the cemetary, about 30 yards to where the woods begins. An old walnut tree stands guard. He was buried with his recurve and an arrow. RIP good friend, until we meet again.....
I saved a few letters he sent me. Sad day And I will say me prayers.
Nice Jen! Thanks! Dale's dedication to bow hunting will always be appreciated. Dale was the UBP, & UBP was Dale. We were both Regional coordinators for Bow Ed program & I will always admire his dedication, thoughts, ideas he conveyed during our many meetings & especially his sense of humor. RIP Dale! You will be missed.
