Saturday morning a gent was hunting in Prospect and fell from his stand. Not clear if it broke or he fell but either case, a safety line and a harness would have kept him from getting so badly hurt. I was told it was broken shoulder, ribs and leg...ouch. Take the time and use a life line

Wow - horrible. But, odd as it sounds, could have been his back/neck/skull which would have been worse. Strap in. All the time. Everyone.

Nothing on the internet about it?

I hear that a lot of hunters using a climber do not attach a tether to the tree, until they stop climbing.

MY BIGGEST FEAR IS FALLING FROM MY TREE STAND... I WAS TOLD 75 PERCENT OF ALL TREE STAND ACCIDENTS OCCUR WHILE INSTALLING TREE STANDS AND WHILE TAKING TREE STANDS DOWN... DEER HUNTING IS SUPPOSED TO BE FUN... BE SAFE EVERYONE

Life line was the best thing ever for putting up and taking down and just getting into your stand. Just slides up the rope but grabs on going down the rope....so simple yet so safe.
